Cheadle is also within easy reach of the beautiful Churnet Valley and so much more besides. Designed in the 19th Century by A.W.N. Pugin, one of the foremost architects of the Victorian age and a master of gothic splendour, St Giles Roman Catholic Church (lovingly known as Pugin's Gem) is regarded as one of the finest churches in Britain.
